Before we go any further with our project. We need to consider if we
want any electricity for the mantle or depending on configuration of the woodwork design, a light up higher for drop lighting of some kind.
In the next photo below you can see the wiring that has been installed. The wire in this photo has been directed into the attic at the top of the fireplace. With lot's of excess wire so we can install a junction box in the attic.
All electrical work should be done by a qualified professional electrician. One thing you might do is take a photo of the fireplace at this point. To make sure you remember where the wire is.
